About
Therapeutic Ultrasound
Ultrasound uses sound waves to vibrate soft tissue and promote healing. Using continuous pulsing mode will penetrate deep into tissues, even deep muscles can be warmed. In non-continuous pulsed mode the sound waves are switched on and off. This pulsing is useful for breaking down adhesions in tissues and particularly tendons.
Ultrasound is used to stimulate collagen making it suited for tendons, ligaments, fascia, joint capsules and scar healing.
Effects:
- Increase circulation
- Increase collagen production
- Relieve muscle spasm
- Reducing scar tissue and adhesions.
